I have the same phenomena on my macbook air and my macbook pro with trusty and precise.
Bootet Ubuntu daily (22.3.2014) trusty from a USB stick. I get random alt+tab switching. I'm not 100% sure if this is a Compiz problem I believe it could be a faulty synaptic trackpad driver.
