May be it will help: Happened with me both on 14.04 and 14.10 What's most interesting, it seems crash taking place only with nvidia graphics - I've used nvidia card for a year while suffering crash couple times a week, then assemble new computer with Intel graphics and the same OS (14.04, fresh install) and can't recall that bug occur. Recently I've bought Nvidia video card to that PC, updated to 14.10 (fresh install) and last week I have already 2 crashes.
