I downloaded a new .iso. same bug occurred on both booting the .iso and booting the install.
In Comment #70 Marco suggested: "Can you please open another bug (like "unity crashes in unity::UnityScreen::paintDisplay", using ubuntu-bug /var/crash/_usr_bin_compiz.1000.crash)?" Does not work. I get the drop down window "Sorry. ubuntu has experienced an internal error..." I select Continue, and nothing visible happens. There are two new files: _usr_bin_compiz.1000.upload _usr_bin_compiz.1000.uploaded but a bug is never processed. I think ubuntu-bug has found a way to reduce the number of bugs reported....
