I'm browsing through launchpad looking for solution for my exact same problem.
This: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/compiz/+bug/1242115 has been marked as duplicate of https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/unity/+bug/1292830 And as I already posted: I use Ubuntu 16.04 x64 with KDE instead of Unity, and this issue happens here as well, so in my opinion it shouldn't be linked to just unity or unity at all. (per first link above) nor it should be linked to nvidia. I don't use nVidia. Asus ZenBook UX305 IntelHD 515 with 3.0 Mesa 12.0.6 Workaround for me: System Settings -> Display and Monitor -> Compositor And here I have dropdown list with OpenGL3.1, OpenGL 2.0 and Xrender What I usually do is I just switch between two of OpenGL versions and it goes back to normal for some time. Long term solution is to reboot my laptop. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of compiz packagers, which is subscribed to compiz in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1072206 Title: [nvidia] Window content is black or transparent To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/compiz/+bug/1072206/+subscriptions _______________________________________________ Mailing list: https://launchpad.net/~compiz Post to : compiz@lists.launchpad.net Unsubscribe : https://launchpad.net/~compiz More help : https://help.launchpad.net/ListHelp
