Metaphilosophical criteria for worldview comparison
<http://clement.vidal.philosophons.com/>Clément Vidal
(ECCO/CLEA, VUB)

In this talk, we will propose a list of ten criteria to compare different worldviews. They are classified in three broad categories:
objective criteria (objective consistency, scientific, scope)
subjective criteria (subjective consistency, personal vision, personal coordination, affectivity) intersubjective criteria transmissibility, collective vision, collective coordination). We first define what a worldview is, and explicate the approach used to build the criteria. We then describe each criterion individually and show what happens when we violate each one. Then, we apply these criteria to a concrete example of two "rival" worldviews: the Flying Spaghetti Monster deity vs. Intelligent Design. We draw more general fruitful suggestions for the science-and-religion dialog.
