Are we cosmically (in)significant?

Clement Vidal <http://www.clemvidal.com/>
Abstract:

The relationship between humanity and the cosmos is one of the most
fundamental questions of philosophy. How can we find a meaning to life if
the second law of thermodynamics says that everything is doomed to
oblivion? How can we understand the big history of our universe, and use
this understanding to envision a big future? Could other intelligent
civilizations in the galaxy already be on a path towards such a big
future? In this short presentation, we attempt to touch upon these most
fascinating questions.
