But 7.5 seems like a kind of standard for 9x9.  With CGOS there is
no reason to try to prefer that black has the advantage - the 
server enforces that each pair of players plays an equal number
of black and white matches.

I guess if 7.5 wasn't so widely accepted, I would also prefer 6.5
for the reasons you stated.  

One adjustment that could made, if we change komi to 6.5 is to
give black an additional 20 ELO point for rating purposes.   This
makes each rating pass slightly more fair.  In other words, black
would gain slightly less from winning and lose slightly more ELO
points for a loss and it would be reversed for white.  

However, in the long run this will have little measurable impact 
on players ratings.    This could of course be done with 7.5
komi too but reversed, perhaps with 15 ELO points.
