I just wanted to thank everyone - so far - for their responses/ help &
biblio's... even though some responses sling off topic... and also to add my
2-cent.
Although I am very new to the world of Go... and my understanding very
limited - I would like to believe that there are hidden solutions
[mathematical] and related rules that have yet to be analysed/ discovered.
Also I have my doubts regarding the significance of commonly highlighted
board points or sequential forms of play/ strategy [joseki, etc] during the
earlier game stages.
A bit divergent... but recently I was proof reading a friends work on the
molecular composition/ build up of proteins [yes those thing you eat] and I
was amazed to find that most had perfect structures/ make up individually
[in space/time] and it was only through their blending that variations in
their makeup arise - not alien and explainable to some degree via the common
processes of hydrolysis, condensation, etc... but all along and in the end I
was left with a question [having Go in mind] of what constrains/ processes/
reasons were there specifically to cause these various atoms [nitrogen,
hydrogen, carbon, oxygen, etc.] to bond in the manner that they did. On an
individual scale it may be possible to elaborate the atomic interaction
between these various elements - but why their formation/ structures beyond,
in these forms?
Similarly... as an analogy... if the Go board can be considered as a vast
space governed by rules into which energy is placed/ distributed initially-
the constrains thereon [primarily the oppositions play in each case - from
and only to a certain point] must give rise to a series of perfect models/
shapes that can occur for its continued distribution at both micro [stone]
and macro [army] levels accordingly. If I egocentrically hold this line of
thought to be true then there would be little need for large scale searching
and naturally any would be largely interpreted by existing constraints or
those of affluence in the near future. As such there would be greater stress
and reaction to the oppositions play.
Anyway its just a premature thought.
