Just FYI, there is software that allows you to have a gateway between a
forum and a mailing list. For example http://www.ruby-forum.com/ is
forum
frontend for all Ruby (the programming language) related mailing lists.
It seems the software they use (at http://rforum.andreas-s.net/)
supports
this. This might be an option for people that like to use a forum
(not me).
