Calling them IGS servers is a bit confusing. IGS, now known as IGS-Pandanet, is the oldest Go server. I don't know of one called KDS. The one I use most is called KGS. There are two types of Go server, "real-time" and "turn-based". On a real-time Go server, you use time limits similar to what you might use in real life. Some real-time Go servers are CyberOro http://world.cyberoro.com/main.asp DashBaduk http://dashlive.dashn.com/english/ IGS-Pandanet http://www.pandanet.co.jp/English/ KGS http://www.gokgs.com/ Kurnik http://www.kurnik.org/intl/en/go/ Ourgame http://www.ourgame.com/ On a turn-based server, you log in once a day or so, find a bunch of your games in which it is your move, and make a move in most or all of them. Time limits are typically a move a day or slower. Some turn-based Go servers are Dragon http://www.dragongoserver.net/ LittleGolem http://www.littlegolem.net/jsp/ OGS http://www.online-go.com/ Nick -- Nick Wedd [EMAIL PROTECTED] _______________________________________________ computer-go mailing list [email protected] http://www.computer-go.org/mailman/listinfo/computer-go/
