Nick,

I was hoping you would have a really long time-control 9x9
tournament. I know you did not get much interest when you mentioned
it before but it might be an impetus to improve the memory behavior of
long running bots. Also, I want to experiment with my alpha/beta
searcher which would benefit greatly from such a long running tournament
- although I doubt it would beat the good UCT players.

It might be fun with 9x9 or 13x13. 19x19 games are so long that even
when you have a 12 hour tournament they still cannot think more than 4
or 5 minutes per move. In this sense it does seem like a long game,
it just seems rather chess-like. (In chess it's common in important
matches to play at a rate of about 3 minutes per move.)

So could you have a 9x9 or 13x13 12 hour per side tournament?

- Don
