Nick, I was hoping you would have a really long time-control 9x9 tournament. I know you did not get much interest when you mentioned it before but it might be an impetus to improve the memory behavior of long running bots. Also, I want to experiment with my alpha/beta searcher which would benefit greatly from such a long running tournament - although I doubt it would beat the good UCT players.
It might be fun with 9x9 or 13x13. 19x19 games are so long that even when you have a 12 hour tournament they still cannot think more than 4 or 5 minutes per move. In this sense it does seem like a long game, it just seems rather chess-like. (In chess it's common in important matches to play at a rate of about 3 minutes per move.)
