you are thinking of going, please let them know today or tomorrow.

This email is an invitation letter from the Institute of Computer GO at
Beijing University of Posts and Telecommunications, we've got your email
from the submission list of 2008 Conference of Computer Games and World 9*9

We are happy to announce that an international computer GO championship is
to be hosted by Taizhou city government and Beijing University of Posts and
Telecommunications. As 2008 Conference of Computer Games and World World 9*9

for the game in this tournament before (September 22-26), to facilitate your
itinerary.

This event does not require registration fee, and your the board and lodging
in Taizhou will be provided freely by the organizing committee, so you only
need to predate your China's trip one-week earlier, and the first

in the tournament, only need to reply to this email, we will contact you.

2008 TaiZhou Computer Go Championship

A Google search for the above finds http://www.itf4.cn/blog/default.asp, which is in Chinese, but appears to me to have nothing to do with Go, or with computers.

But Google helpfully offers to translate it, and produces http://translate.google.com/translate?hl=en&sl=zh-CN&u=http://219.142.86.

GL_enGB177GB229 which is definitely about computer Go: it is about the "Jiuding Cup World Computer Go Championship". It seems unrelated to the page that Google claims it is a translation of.

This translated page does not reveal whether these events are held in Taizhou, Jiangsu province or Taizhou, Zhejiang province. It has pictures of the winner and runner-up of the 2007 Jiuding event: they are unnamed, both are young women, the winner is Chinese, the runner-up Brazilian. It is possible that these pictures are just placeholders, and the real results, if any, are unknown to the creator of the page.

I remain mystified.
