I have been doing that with http://kam.mff.cuni.cz/~pasky/cgoban-h/. It's a huge amount of work to do _and_ to keep it up-to-date with KGS software/protocol changes, uncertain to last (there are easy ways for wms to thwart this effort for good if he wants) and borderline ethically.
