If your goal is a fully featured go gui, with replay and review capabilities, you could start with Jago.
i need this to work on screwy boards, so i probably have to roll my own.
With about 10 minutes work, you could convert the "hex" board for boardspace.net to a go board. The advantage of this approach is that you'd automatically have a pretty functional editing package.
