Hi Ingo,

many entrants from China could not come to Taiwan because of visa
difficulties...

in Hex there ended up being 2 competitor, EzoCNN from Japan by Kei Takada
and MoHexCNN by Chao Gao (UAlberta). on 11x11 both programs win at least
80% of their games
against last year's champion non-CNN payers.

MCNN had a kind of alphago development this year: it won both 11x11 and
13x13 events
5-0 (best of 8, so rest of games were not nec)
it was wild watching the 11x11 games: MCNN played many sparsely located
non-local moves that in the end turned out
to be useful.

details will be the ICGA Olympiad Hex report
