I'm not sure if it is what Yamato is referring too, but the most common situation I come across (where a chinese-rules-bot will make a mistake in Japanese rules) is where there is a ko on the board, but no ko threats and no dame left. In Japanese rules you must pass; in Chinese rules you simply play inside your own territory. I couldn't quickly find any of the sgf examples I have, but if you still need one let me know and I'll do a proper hunt. >> Zen also considers the difference of Japanese rules and Chinese rules >> in the playouts. However it is unstable when the pass is the only winning >> move. I wonder if MFG can handle it correctly. BTW, sorry for my earlier mis-information. I'd asked Yamato about Japanese rule support in the playouts a few months ago, in Japanese, and it turns out I had not understood his answer correctly.
