But they are quite definitely German, from Dortmund, IIRC. One programmer who has been working on it for 8 years, then a business guy; apparently they all played at the same chess club and decided to take the program to the next level in terms of making a business around it. > The chief programmer told me it's very specific for 9x9. We also know it is monte-carlo-based, but not much more. It is curious that 2 of its 3 losses (the ones against Mogo and ManyFaces) were as white, not as black (*); then they won as black against the same opponent. I'm looking forward to studying those game records in particular. Darren *: For most of the other strong programs the losses were as black, so the "7.5pt komi is too high" hypothesis still stands. -- Darren Cook, Software Researcher/Developer http://dcook.org/gobet/ (Shodan Go Bet - who will win?) http://dcook.org/work/ (About me and my work) http://dcook.org/blogs.html (My blogs and articles) _______________________________________________ Computer-go mailing list [email protected] http://dvandva.org/cgi-bin/mailman/listinfo/computer-go
