8 x AMD Opteron 6128 (8 cores a 2GHz), with 2GB ECC per
core (64GB) AS-1042G-TF SUPERMICRO 1U AMD QUAD
about (4000€)

2x AMD Opteron 6128 with 2GB per core (32GB) should cost
less than 2500€.

The first configuration is what bough a friend of mine in Spain.
I think the best option for a cheap AMD multisocket is G34
motherboards (2 and 4 sockets) with Opteron 6128 (about
270$ per CPU)
