Particularly with a MCTS program, for as little as I worked on it.
Usually I have pretty strong intuition when to pursue an idea, even if
the first results look discouraging at first. But I must say that I
have seen more unintuitive results with MCTS than with anything else I
have worked on. Although a GA I worked on also sometimes had similar
effects. It makes it extra challenging to allocate your time wisely.
