I was impressed by the playing style of Motoki on 9x9. I am to weak to understand the moves played. But I can see that the style is very severe, and in a sense he played in the same way as MC programs do, pushing forward at every opportunity.

I guess I have to analyze these games with Valkyria!

Hello and thank you for the report, Ingo.

Two corrections of the names of the Japanese, though :).

Hello,

the whole event ended 2:2,

but likely not in the way most of us expected.

True. I was very surprised Motoki beat Zen with B and W.
He must be stronger than pro on 9x9 :).

** On 9x9, at komi 7.5, Zen lost both games to

French 7d amateur Motoki Noguchi.
                                              ^^^^^ Correct

See

http://www.lri.fr/~teytaud/crClermont/cr.pdf

for an earlier computer encounter of Motoki (in December 2008).

** On 13x13, Zen was Black and komi set to 0.5.

Opponent was Motoki Nogushi again. He resigned.

                                      ^^^^^ Noguchi

** On 19x19, Zen got 5 handicap stones against

Hayashi Kozo (6p), and seemed to have no real problems
