Congrats to Zen this time. Thanks again, Ingo. "Later this group went over Jordan." For some reason crossing the Jordan is not one of the hundreds of euphemisms that do exist in the english language. How about "it entered the garden of serenity" :-)
The MFs winrate graph is pretty good at telling the story. Zen played an impossible tenuki in the top right, but John didn't fully take advantage. He should have played the nobi to the edge.(As so often, the opponents move) That tenuki reminds us that it's still the early days in go bot programming. A few moves later John played an ill conceived crosscut in a difficult position and with that Zen had the better opening again. Then John started on a tenacious catch up tour. He seems to have a knack for making Zen look a little aimless in the middle game. A little like creating a closed position in chess, denying the opponent powerful short term tactics. Under those conditions Zen shows a certain lack of appreciation for secure territory. John didn't quite make it though. If he had defended the group that died, it would still have been a loss imo. We have a really interesting match here, but John needs to get better results in the opening.
