Interestingly, I met Larry Tu in San Jose last month after a 20-year
hiatus and he tried to give me two books about Computer Go and Monte
Carlo. But both were in Japanese and I think one might have been the
book mentioned above. Larry had assumed that since I speak Japanese I
could also read it. But that's not so automatic for a Westerner as it
is for a Chinese. Larry spoke very highly of the books, so it's
unfortunate I can't read them.
I wonder if anyone here actually still knows/remembers who Larry Tu
is. Top honors for the right answer. (Hint, it has to do with computer
Go.)
