At the mnoment, this is still the case. In my eyes, you would be the most qualified person to change this status, in collaboration with the Schaefers team. Perhaps you can mail them interesting positions, and from their answers and the outputs of their program you would learn what the program can do and what not. Doing this in pingpong mode for several rounds should get a clear(er) picture soon. When I understood Lars Schaefers correctly, he is willing to set up a website with human-readable examples of the program output when he finds some time.
