Hello,

I have a problem with p/s to my old Siemens Nixdorf Primergy 300
server. You can see it's motherboard (D963) here:
http://www.artofhacking.com/th99/m/S-T/34143.htm.

Right now I use p/s that was installed when I bought the server. It's
Magnatek 3616-25-100. It has similar connectors to AT ones and
additional 5V and 3V connector. What I mean by similar:

When you look at the picture on a webpage I linked above then left
from CN6 (bottom right corner) you have:

RRRKKK (additional 5V)
RRRWKK BKVORY (5V / 12V)

and left from CN14 (near the center) you have (order: top -> bottom)
BBBGGG (additional 3V)

letters stand for the colors of the wires:
Y - yellow
R - red
O - orange
V - violet
K - black
B - brown
W - white

Current p/s works but:
1. one (or more) of the capacitors inside p/s leaked
2. it's quite noisy (noise doesn't come from a fan)
I would like this server to be on 24h/day so it would be best to
change this p/s.

At first I thought that I can use ATX p/s, because there is additional
connector on the motherboard that looks like atx connector (top left
corner). However it's 22 (yes - 22) pin. This brings the first
question: 22-pin - what standard is that? Since I haven't seen 22-pin
power supplies anywhere my chances of buying one that is not only in
good condition but also quiet are rather slim. This brings my second
question: is there any way of using atx power supply with this
motherboard?

I know that it's old, but I would really like to make it work so
please don't tell me to buy another server/computer ;-).

regards
t47
