actually the things you mentioned were what im going to tell you...as
it supposed to be a viral activity in the background.
OK, try Autoruns and check everything, but be careful as you may mess
something, try to identify the process that  consume all the CPU
usage...
also, could be a hardware failure, or a hardware incompatibility (with
vista).
