Youtube itself uses flash (.FLV) video and HD (.MP4) video, both use .MP3 audio sourcing. Both are rendered and encoded by youtube's internal player, if you're having difficulty viewing a video try the youtube help section here: http://www.youtube.com/user/YouTubeHelp If you're talking about uploading, make sure you're uploading supported video formats like WMV, .AVI, .MOV and .MPG.
