First off - WHAT COMPUTER MAKER/MODEL/BIOS (maker/version)? Next - F8 is only for within the Boot process of Windows; F12 may or may not be anything significant depending upon you computer/maker/model (for example - most Dell machines use F12 during POST to indicate that the user want to override the boot device to use). Consequently you have not procided enough information for anyone to be able to help you
