Hello, my name is Frank, I'm new, and I have a question. I did search the group to see if I could find a thread that discussed this problem, but found nothing.
My problem: I bought a new SATA 1TB HDD Western Digital Green OEM. When I plug it in Windows doesn't detect it. This hdd is SATA 2 I believe, and my MB is SATA 1, is that the reason? There is no legacy type power socket on this drive. I have that WD cable that supposed to be the SATA cable and power in one, but it seems strange to me. You can see what this drive looks like here: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16822136317 This is the drive I bought from New Egg. My PC is home built, and is about 3 years old. A Pentium D with 4GB RAM. Thanks. Frank --~--~---------~--~----~------------~-------~--~----~ You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups "Computer Tech Support" group.
