The Powerconnect 3048 (a 48 port stackable switch) can connect via
web, or via RS232 to the console port.
Have you looked at the user manual? You can also view/download it from
http://support.dell.com/support/edocs/network/2T180/en/index.htm
According to the installation section you need to connect to the
console port (after initial installation) to set up the switch
(especially the IP address so that you could use the web interface -
not also that when reloaded the default factory config it does not
reload/change the IP address, mask and default gateway addresses).
Also when posting to google groups an http with ip address it is best
to split it up since google masks it and the entire address cannot be
seen (such as http://192.168.1.1 vs http:// 192.168.1.110).
