Each time Word opens or closes it also closes a hidden template file called Normal.dot (normal.dotm for Office 2007) In example of my user profile running windows XP and office 07 here is the file location: C:\Documents and Settings\Ceresia\Application Data\Microsoft\Templates C:\ - being the hard drive Documents and settings - being the user folders location Ceresia - being the current account that I am accessing at the time of the problem Application data - to hold specific information for applications as needed Microsoft - ummm...sucks! templates - where the normal.dotm file is located. Delete the Normal.dotm (make sure you are closed out of word) If you cannot delete it, try a reboot and then try to clean the file.
