Start up beeps actually tell the user what the start up test found, usualy its a single short beep, and that means every thing is ok, you said there is a continuous beeping right? well when i looked that up it said this that the error is in one of those 3: Power supply, system board, or keyboard problem. Doesn't have to mean that something went poof, try checking the cords of each and stuff first before judging.
