Is this hard drive an IDE or SATA hard drive? If SATA try to change the cable to the device and change the port on the mobo, see if it fires in BIOS then, if not then I would try hooking it up to another computer, if that doesn't work then I would likely suggest that the hard drive is not in the best condition.
