Very true. BUT... he never did say how he knew it had bad sectors,
was it some diagnostic or what?
Also depending on the memory type additional memory,
if he has less than 384MB (which is where in my opinion
the minimum memory for XP with SP3 should start at
for not bad performance - not bad but not great either),
memory upgrades are also quite affordable.
