Have you checked this site out and contacted them to see if they can
help? Have you considered volunteering your time with some computer
sales or repair shop in exchange for a computer?

Yes this site is about donated computers; but they might consider
selling you one cheap to help them with their costs; or you might
suggest donating time and money to them in exchange for a computer and
its much nearer your area. I have often found that computer repair
shops will often give or sell really cheap used computers, that the
original owner no longer wanted, when they upgraded. And often even
if they sell, its only to cover the cost of the repairs and if you
dont want it repaired they will often give it to you just to get it
out of their way. I have done this and my own techy gives me
computers often to set up and pass along to others who cant afford
one, it saves them the bother of taking up space til they can legally
dispose of them. Maybe you have some who are like them near you as
well. Just start asking these people. That's how I got my techies
started in doing this. And many of their customers are now very
willing to donate their old computers when they realize that they are
going to those who can't afford any other way or for students.
I hope you asked your own school about the possibility as well. I am
not clear on why you need this computer but if you are willing to
repair one on your own they just might have one available to give to.
