OK, what I need you to do is... Right click on the My Computer icon and click on Manage.
When the management console come up... Click on the Device Manager item in the left pane. Are there any devices in the right pane that has either and exclamation or question mark icon? If there are (I suspect there will be) which is it? And then Right click on that device and click on Properties. From the General tab - Device Status: what exactly does it say?
