I am probably of your vintage :) but worked more on the unix side than MS.
So not much used to dos scripting though I've written a few small batch
files and use commands like find and at.

As to your question, it seems screenlock doesn't generate an event in XP but
does in Vista and later. Here is the reference:

http://www.eggheadcafe.com/software/aspnet/31913289/screen-saver-lock-event-id.aspx

And there are programs to query event logs and trigger programs based on
events. Here is the reference:

http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/cc757231%28WS.10%29.aspx

So if you are working on Vista or later you might be able to do something
with these tools.

All the best!
