Passing the A+ is a great start, I would focus on Windows products, XP, Vista, 7, Server 2k3, 2k8. Exchange as well. Most companies are looking for a Server admin that has knowledge in either 2003 or 2008 server, with some Exchange experience. Also the more knowledge you know about Microsoft Office the better, especially Outlook, and Word. Focus on those and you should be fine in the workplace, since you have your A+ I would assume you know how to repair/build a PC, so the building blocks are set in place.
My Highschool only offered Web Design classes, so I took two years of that plus 2 more years of independent study in Web Design, centered on Dreamweaver, Flash, Fireworks. After that I went to College and started with a 2 year degree in Networking/Servers. Beyond that it is up to you to continue with a 4-8 year degree, but most companies do not require you to hold anything but a 2 year. -- You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups "Computer Tech Support" group.
