Thank you for replying. I got the idea to do this from a TechRepublic article - http://www.techrepublic.com/article/get-the-most-out-of-windows-nts-paging-file/5728295. This isn't the exact one I followed but it makes the same points i.e. putting the page file over a non-O/S drive.
