the driver would show a DL logo on the front panel, where it loads the disc. the same apply for the disc, a DL logo is shown, or simply written on it, a DUAL LAYER disc, the disc is some what different, it is shiny in both layers (facing)...and it needs a special pen to write, never tried the usual pen, but i think it will harm the data....not sure.
