FWIW, my next farm neighbor in WV has been keeping bees his whole long
life. For over 17 years that I know of, his bee husbandry has been
beset (NPI) with a variety of problems.
Loss of habitat, changes in agriculture, climate changes that affect the
blooming of trees, Africanized honey bees, hive mites, and other
diseases that wipe out the whole hive. We had no cell phone service
there whatsoever, except for the highest ridges, until 3 years ago.
Most of the County is timber or National Forest as is the nearby adjoing
County. Cell phone coverage is spotty at best along major arteries
and non existant in others.
Bees need a continuing source of necter, after winter, from blooming
plants and trees. The acorn crop that affects Deer and Grouse
populations and locations has been spotty at best the last decade or so
and I can directly relate that to weather.
I would look to polution, and invasive species long before I would
suspect Cell phones.
