I have an Actiontec DSL modem/router set up with 128 bit WEP. For that, I just type in a 26-digit hex key. I am now trying to connect a Netgear wireless printer driver, but the WEP screen has four keys, the option to type in a passphrase to generate the keys, and the option for public or shared-key access. I have tried all the permutations that I can think of and still can't get the two boxes to talk to each other.
I have seen this type of interface before. 1. The 26-digit hex key goes in as Key 1 in the four boxes for keys. 2. There is also something about selecting what key to use, usually. 3. These are shared private keys, not public keys. So shared-key access is appropriate. -- John DeCarlo, My Views Are My Own ************************************************************************ * ==> QUICK LIST-COMMAND REFERENCE - Put the following commands in <== * ==> the body of an email & send 'em to: [EMAIL PROTECTED] <== * Join the list: SUBSCRIBE COMPUTERGUYS-L Your Name * Too much mail?
