Are you burning hi def?
I could burn hi def with my software and hardware, but don't have an HD DVD player. They're much too expensive.
Our Samsung DVD player/recorder does a very good job of up-converting standard DVDs to almost HD. When the HD players get down to <$200, and the format wars cool down, then we'll get 2 HD DVD players for our 2 HD TVs.
HD is nice, but I'm happy watching movies in standard def or up-converted, especially considering the extra cost.
