Isn't that how anything in the real world happens?  You make it seem that MS
has stumbled upon a unique formula.  Few products, of any kind, work exactly
as planned out of the gate.  According the informed opinions on this list,
OS X wasn't worth anything until version 10.3 (and according to some, still
isn't worth it).
