MS did get Adobe to give up its crown jewels, PostScript type, and adopt the problematical MS-developed Open Type format. The color space default for Photoshop, sRGB, is also all wrong, but Adobe went along because MS insisted they had to in order to get a "Works with Windows" sticker on their box.
