Has anyone else taken Google's street view for a spin? I took a walk
around Central Park South and 5th Avenue looking for the Apple Store. It
was amazingly like being there. The user interface is impressive. I tried
Amazon's version of this a few years ago and found it very unsatisfying,
even dumb. In contrast, Google's version is easy to use and immersive. It
was close to the experience of walking down the street -- except that I
was traveling down the middle of the street and directional arrows always
kept me oriented. Very cool. The pictures are a bit fuzzy, so I don't
know why people are fussing about "invasion of privacy."
