This is a follow-up to an earlier problem, with a new question.
I posted a message last week about the fact that my system year kept "changing itself" to 2005. Consensus from helpful folks on the list was that it was either a CMOS battery going bad, or the result of a virus or other intruder. Well, changing the battery did not seem to help (athough the directions were great -- thanks!) and my various existing AV programs didn't turn up any problems. Then I heard about a "new generation" anti-malware program called PREVX that could be downloaded for a free trial. I tried it, and whatever it did fixed the date, and I've seen no misbehavior since. I'm thinking of subscribing to PREVX. Does anyone know anything about it?
Thanks in advance, Anne (on Tom's computer) ************************************************************************ * ==> QUICK LIST-COMMAND REFERENCE - Put the following commands in <== * ==> the body of an email & send 'em to: [EMAIL PROTECTED] <== * Join the list: SUBSCRIBE COMPUTERGUYS-L Your Name * Too much mail?
