When you double-click on the arial.ttf file do you get a window that 
shows you the character set? 

Does the font list in Firefox show you all your other installed fonts or 
just a few? Does is show Franklin Gothic, Georgia, Gil Sans, Tahoma, 
Trebuchet, and Verdanna? These are other required Windows fonts.

The file may be corrupt. Try copying it from one of the other PCs.

PS This is an example of how Windows punishes its users.
