This is an external two drive enclosure, not a tray.  Why bother with
eSata?  Speed...being able to hot swap if you wanted.  As far as
incompatibilities go, I'm on windows so SATA is fine.  I guess your mac
doesn't like new fangled things that came out years ago like SATA?

NAT?  NAS?  Can you say pokey?  I understood he wanted to run OS's from
this(these) drives, why use old technology like IDE?  USB is out of the
question if you want to dual boot.

eSATA is KISS for most people.
