I currently use Dell workstations and have found to be almost trouble
free (one easily forgets pain)
The Vostro seems to be about the same as the HP Pavilion, but I can get
2 gigs of ram for the same price as the HP.
From the discussion on this list, it sounds like that is desired for
running Vista.
