blogging to build their businesses

Starting with an elementary overview, and working to the complex, Nancy
McCord makes the process of getting started with blogging easy. By the
time she finishes, attendees will be ready to create a useful blog. Topics
to be covered include—

o A blog's impact on Web site traffic and "stickiness"
o The impact of blog setup method on search engines such as Google (for
example, when using Blogspot versus custom FTP blogging)
o How to set up a blog (including demo using Blogger's free online tools
so you can start blogging fast)
o XML feeds: what they are and how you can use them
o Feed syndication tools
o Ghost blogging

In addition, by reviewing several portal sites like My Yahoo, she will
demonstrate how RSS/XML news content feeds are used without our awareness.

Bring your questions. Nancy's answers will help you begin to take
advantage of this new, exciting technology to interact with customers and
build your site's Web presence. With her fresh, candid approach, Nancy
McCord will give you the "real scoop" on blogging and on why you should be
using a blog with your Web site.
